Reggio Emilia: We see children as capable, curious individuals who are central to their own learning—not empty vessels to be filled, but active participants in their development.
Montessori: Select Montessori materials are used to inspire a lifelong love of learning. Children are encouraged to become confident, independent, and responsible learners who trust in their own abilities.
Steiner (Waldorf): Our outdoor environments include natural play materials, vegetable gardens, and sometimes even chickens to care for. Children learn to prepare food, paint, garden, and use tools—developing practical life skills, cooperation, and social confidence.

We believe in giving children the time and space to play, explore, and enjoy childhood, while building strong foundational skills for school and life.

Philosophy in Practice

🛡️ Safety

At Tranquillity Family Day Care, safety is our top priority. We provide a secure, home-based setting where children feel protected, supported, and free to explore.

👶 Small Groups, Big Care

Each educator cares for up to four children during most of the day, allowing for focused attention and meaningful relationships.
Indoor and outdoor spaces are thoughtfully designed to ensure constant supervision.
Indoors feature cosy corners for quiet play and creative zones for messy exploration.
Outdoor areas are fully fenced, and entry points are securely locked.

🧑‍⚕️ Trained & Prepared Educators

Our educators are equipped with essential training to ensure your child’s safety and wellbeing:

First Aid certified for immediate response to minor injuries
Trained in Food Safety, Food Hygiene, and Sleep Safe practices
Overseen by our Nominated Supervisor, Educational Leader, and Coordinator, who take their responsibility for child safety very seriously

🥗 Health & Wellbeing at the Heart

We believe that healthy habits start early:

Families receive guidance on nutritious food choices
Wholefoods are encouraged, while processed and pre-packaged foods are discouraged
Children use reusable, washable lunch containers, learning sustainable practices
Water is always available—our preferred drink for hydration

🏃 Active Bodies, Happy Minds

Outdoor play is essential for physical development and joy:

Children enjoy chasey, ball games, bike riding, climbing, and balancing activities
Our outdoor spaces allow children to run freely, explore, and build confidence

For the health and wellbeing of all children in our care, we ask that families ensure their child is fully vaccinated in accordance with public health guidelines.
